The first group to be enshrined in the Ring of Honor consists of 13 individuals, including the entire 1995-96 Bulls team. This extraordinary squad holds a special place in NBA history, having achieved a remarkable 72-10 record and securing the league championship, marking their fourth title in a remarkable six-title run. Joining the legendary players are former Bulls coach Phil Jackson, assistant Tex Winter, and former general manager Jerry Krause. The esteemed list also includes Artis Gilmore, Jerry Sloan, Toni Kukoč, Bob Love, Chet Walker, Johnny Kerr, and Dick Klein.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Bulls have organized a private event at the United Center on January 11, followed by a halftime ceremony during the Bulls’ game against the Golden State Warriors on January 12. It is fitting that the Warriors’ head coach, Steve Kerr, who spent five seasons as a player for the Bulls and was a member of the historic 1995-96 team, will witness the induction firsthand.

The Ring of Honor will continue to grow every two years as the Bulls pay homage to their storied past. Eligible players must have represented the team for at least three seasons and have been retired from professional basketball for a minimum of three years. This ensures that only those who have made a significant impact and left a lasting legacy will be immortalized in the Ring of Honor.

Michael Jordan, the ultimate basketball icon, spent an illustrious 13 seasons with the Bulls, capturing six NBA titles during an extraordinary eight-year span. His unparalleled skills and competitive spirit have solidified his place among the greatest players in history. Jordan was rightfully inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009, followed by his teammates Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman in subsequent years.
