REPORT : Khalil Mack is “Frustrated” With the Failing Bolts Season as Tension Rises

Through their first 11 games of the 2023 season, the Los Angeles Chargers appear to be in a bit of a free fall. Before their game against the New England Patriots, the Bolts, who have a 4-7 record through 11 games, are now experiencing a three-game losing skid.

This is not the Charger team that many observers and supporters had in mind prior to the season, but this is what happened. A gifted squad, maybe the best in the league on paper, is having trouble scoring some points themselves or stopping other teams from scoring.

The problem is obvious, but it’s confusing to see. Nevertheless, it’s ultimately annoying for everyone concerned, even All-Pro edge rusher Kahlil Mack. When Mack addressed the media prior to their New England showdown, he didn’t hold back.  According to ESPN,

“It’s definitely frustrating, man,” said Mack, gazing down at the ground after Thursday’s practice. “Just understanding what we had the chance to do. You don’t get too many opportunities in this league, and we’re running out of them.”

Pro Bowlers and All-Pros are held by the Bolts on both sides of the ball, but they are unable to settle into a routine when it counts most.

But it’s not Mack’s fault. At 32, he is having one of his greatest seasons to date and is clearly contributing, winning AFC Defensive Player of the Month. He may need to give this squad and defense a fighting chance each and every week, but he can’t do it all.

We’ll see if he and the Bolts can step up their game to beat the odds as time is running out.
