Maxx Crosby talks about Emerging youngsters
In an episode of his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby, released recently, star defensive end Maxx Crosby discussed how the Raiders’ young players are starting to establish themselves.
“You see Michael Mayer, another guy, get more productive and also more confident,” he said. “That dude is going to be really special. Tre Tucker, Tyree [Wilson]’s getting better and better every single week, Malcolm Koonce, he’s not a rookie, but he’s a young guy stepping up and getting better. I can go on and on, but that’s what it’s all about. My focus is on today, focusing on getting better today, and I know these guys are thinking the same way, but you see these young guys stepping up, and you just see the future is going to be super bright. So, we’re focused on right now and trying to get into these playoffs, but the future is bright.”
“There’s a ton of guys stepping up, and a lot of people wrote them off. They weren’t expecting them to do what they’re doing, and that’s just a credit to them. It’s awesome to see, and every single week, you see another guy. For example, Jack Jones. He’s been with the team for a few weeks, and he’s just getting better and better, snagging it, making plays, playing with a bunch of swag, and that’s what you want, to have guys out there confident, playing loose and locked in at the same time, and you just see guys taking big steps every week.”
Based on what he has observed, Crosby believes that the Raiders’ postseason effort may depend heavily on these gifted young players.
