In a recent match against the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green faced his third ejection of the season, adding another chapter to his turbulent on-court behavior. The turning point occurred in the third quarter when Green swung his arm, unintentionally, at Suns center Jusuf Nurkic, sending him to the floor. The referees, after a review, deemed it a flagrant foul 2, resulting in Green’s automatic ejection.
This incident follows Green’s five-game suspension last month for putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock and a prior ejection due to two technical fouls against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Reflecting on his actions, Green offered a post-game apology to Nurkic, emphasizing that he did not intend to hit him. According to Green, the swing was a reaction to Nurkic grabbing his hip, leading to an unfortunate outcome.
Before the ejection, Green contributed minimally to the game with two points, two rebounds, and two assists in 17 minutes, and his departure coincided with the Warriors holding a narrow lead of 65-60. Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed the team’s need for Green, urging him to maintain composure and support his teammates on the court. Kerr acknowledged Green’s significance, stating, “Draymond is still a really good player. We need him if we are going to be a really good team.”
