Haley Cavinder has disclosed that she experienced a “mental breakdown” as a result of the hate mail she received online after starting a relationship with Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.
The former standout player from the University of Miami, who is about to make a comeback to collegiate hoops after reconsidering her decision to leave, says she received backlash for her appearance after hooking up with the pass catcher.
In 2023, Ferguson enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Cowboys, but they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. When Haley and Hanna attended games to cheer him on, they received a lot of attention.
She said,
“It made me feel very comfortable and confident sharing him as well,”
“He’s a big part of my life and will continue (to be).
“So it’s not something that I (will) keep private. I go to Cowboys games and he’ll be at my games.”
Having decided to play basketball again, Haley is about to play her final season at TCU. She also said they will stay public in spite of all the hostility.
