Pat McAfee has gained a lot of admirers and detractors since joining ESPN; the latter group even includes one of his own supervisors at the network.
After all, McAfee even went so far as to claim that he had been “canceled by both parties” following the Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

McAfee signed a $85 million contract with ESPN last year. He cohosted “College GameDay” in 2023 (though he isn’t sure if he will stay there) and has contributed to “First Take,” but the majority of his most well-known and viral moments came from his daily show, which airs on the network.
Stephen A. Smith talks about Pat McAfee
Stephen A. Smith, the “First Take” anchor, recently referred to McAfee as “a sensational talent” and listed attributes that he “loves” about him. During the podcast “Bussin’ With The Boys” with Taylor Lewan, a former Tennessee Titan, Stephen said :
“I love Pat McAfee. Love him to death. I love his swag, I love the fact that he’s an honest brother. He don’t give a s—. You know exactly where he stands. That’s my kind of dude. That works for me,”
Smith asserted that there is a significant distinction between the two. One of the two reasons, according to Smith, that make him more “polished politically” than McAfee is his race. Smith added ,
“Because he has no desire to be, No. 1,” “And No.2, if we’re being honest, he’s white, and I’m Black; he doesn’t have to be. I had to be. So I get all of that, and I’m not knocking him for it.” “Don’t get it twisted — I love Pat, he knows that, I’ll do anything to help him,”
