Wide receiver Gabe Davis of the Buffalo Bills stated a month ago that he was willing to stay in Buffalo but that he anticipated to test free agency. Davis is now making hints that he is done with Buffalo.
Though Davis didn’t say it explicitly, the video he shared on social media, which is a recap of his four years with the Bills, sounds like a farewell to fans.
It’s likely that after holding initial contract negotiations with the Bills with his agent, Davis has decided he would sign with a different team when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next month because the differences between them are too great.
That should come as no surprise considering the roster adjustments the Bills still need to make in order to stay below the 2024 salary cap. Reducing or restructuring veteran contracts will need to be Buffalo’s first goal rather than re-signing veterans who will demand higher compensation.
Therefore, it seems likely that Davis will be playing somewhere in 2024 after spending four seasons in Buffalo.
