According to reports, Heat’s forward Haywood Highsmith got involved in a car accident that left the victim with partial leg amputation. The accident occurred while driving home from Kaseya Center following the Heat’s win over the Magic on Tuesday night.
The report states that Haywood ran into a man who was helping another driver stuck in the middle of the road leaving the man in a critical condition resulting in a partial amputation of his leg.
The Heat has ruled Highsmith out for Wednesday’s game against the Spurs following the accident.
“We have been made aware that Highsmith was involved in a car accident heading home from last night’s game. Highsmith is listed as out for tonight’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs due to Personal Reasons.
“Our hearts go out to those who were injured. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Despite the car crash, it’s reported that Haywood Highsmith wasn’t injured. We wish the victim a speedy recovery and a sound frame of mind for the player.
