Latest Development About Baker Mayfield’s Contract With the Buccaneers

The quarterback’s prospective return has been discussed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield. The quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will soon have more time to talk about Mayfield’s possible return to the team.

Mayfield performed admirably as the starting quarterback for the Buccaneers after agreeing to a one-year contract. He guided the team to a 9-8 record and a convincing playoff victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

It wasn’t Mayfield’s fault that he was headed in the wrong way prior to the Buccaneers season.

Could Mayfield extend his stay with Bucs ?

Due to his performance with the Buccaneers in the previous season, the quarterback may now see some serious interest, and the Bucs will have competition when he hits free agency.

The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud revealed that Mayfield and the team have held “preliminary talks” over a possible new contract. According to stroud,

“Although nothing is imminent, the Bucs and Mayfield have had some preliminary talks about a new contract. Licht is expected to meet with Mayfield’s agent, Tom Mills, next week,”

“Both sides have expressed an interest in reaching an agreement for Mayfield to return to Tampa Bay.”

With Mayfield back, the team may benefit greatly. In addition to seeing the return of Mike Evans, the team’s standout wide receiver of the previous ten years, they would have continuity at center going forward.
