Did you know that even the King himself, LeBron James, can’t escape criticism? In a recent draft mock by ESPN, the spotlight was on his son, Bronny James. But instead of brushing off the criticism like dust off his shoulders, LeBron took to social media to defend his talented offspring.
In light of this criticism surrounding Bronny’s draft projections, LeBron James himself came forward to address the issue. The proud father took offense at those who doubted his son’s talent solely based on their preconceived notions.
LeBron made it clear that while having him as a father opens doors for Bronny by providing access to resources and connections within the basketball community, ultimately it is up to Bronny himself to prove his worth through hard work and dedication.
The four-time NBA champion emphasized that critics should focus on evaluating young athletes based on their skills rather than relying solely on their family background or lineage. He urged people not to underestimate or undermine young players like Bronny who have put in countless hours honing their craft.
LeBron also highlighted how important family support is during such times when young athletes face scrutiny and criticism. He stressed that it is crucial to uplift and encourage young talent rather than tear them down. LeBron’s response showcases his commitment to defending his family and advocating for a fair evaluation of Bronny’s abilities.
This is what King James had to say about critics of his son Bronny’s career.
“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”
LeBron also had encouraging words for kids out there striving to be great in whatever they are doing.
“And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding.”
LeBron James is standing up for his son and that’s a good thing from a caring and protective father. He’s been there before and knows what it takes to be a Pro in the NBA. It’s not an easy journey!
With that being said people called Bron out for being a hypocrite since earlier in the month he said Bronny was better than some NBA players and could get minutes on the Lakers.
