Buddy Hield talks about playing with Joel Embiid, a standout player for the Sixers. Buddy Hield was added by the Philadelphia 76ers to improve their perimeter play during the trade deadline. The seasoned sharpshooter discussed playing with the squad’s star after making his team debut on Friday.
Hield has been one of the NBA’s best high-volume three-point shooters since joining the team. He has made about eight deep attempts per game on average since 2018.
Outside shooting is crucial for a team led by a big guy who like to play in the midrange.
The Sixers have attempted to surround Joel Embiid with as many outside shooters as they can over the last three years. The league MVP was having a great season with the Sixers’ new team before he suffered a knee injury.
Hield is the perfect companion piece since he’s not afraid to let it fly from a distance. After playing for his new squad for the first time, he was questioned about what it’s like to play with a player with such dominance.
Hield acknowledged that because he had such a busy week, the idea hadn’t occurred to him yet. Having said that, he is excited to share the stage with Embiid and hopes that he can return soon. Hield said ,
“I haven’t thought about it. I’ve played against him, and I’ve seen what we’ve done to him and just trapping him into the double-teams and these guys getting some good shots,” “I haven’t thought about it. Hield has played well in his first two games with the Sixers, even though he had little time to prepare.
