Each athlete who had the chance to play beside the legendary Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls had a unique tale to share. Allen Iverson was deeply impacted by his initial interaction with Jordan. Iverson was happy to finally get the chance to meet his idol, though. Iverson said,
“Anybody that know Allen Iverson know Black Jesus was it for me. I wanted to be like Mike. ..remember the first time seeing him; I couldn’t believe it, man. Man! I ain’t never looked at a person in my life — and I’ve seen millions of celebrities — I never looked at somebody that didn’t look real. Never. Like, the God damn guy was glowing or something, man,”

Iverson was a huge fan of Jordan, but he was also a fierce competitor who dared opponents regardless of their standing or reputation. He got the chance to play against Jordan in his rookie campaign and showed that he was a formidable opponent. Iverson continued,
“I’m looking at it, that’s him. I’m looking at his socks; he got the Jordan’s on. I was blown away. But once they did that (mimicking the referee’s tip-off) – SHOWTIME. They always gonna know who the 23 is, but tonight, they gonna know who the number 3 is,”
