NBA player Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies may release another Nike Ja 1 colorway soon.
NBA player Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is releasing fresh iterations of his Nike Ja 1 sneaker. The “Baylor University” colorway, which showcases Baylor’s green and yellow hues along with their BU emblem on the tongue of the sneaker, is among the most recent to be unveiled.
Desmond Bane of the Grizzlies reacted to these new shoes by asking Morant when he would release TCU colors:
Aye @JaMorant this getting out of control! Where the TCU flavors at !? 😂 https://t.co/5o3PriR7hV

Naturally, Bane spent four seasons as a player at TCU before getting selected 30th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Bane, one of the top picks in that draft, has become a Memphis star, averaging 24.4 points per game this year before suffering an ankle injury that has kept him out of the game since January.
Morant appeared to hint at the possibility of a TCU colorway in response to Bane:

Since his season-ending shoulder injury, which has essentially characterized Memphis’ whole season, Morant has been sidelined alongside Bane. When the Grizzlies learned that Morant would be sidelined for the season, their enthusiasm following his return vanished. Memphis has had a difficult season when you include in Bane’s prolonged absence and the fact that a number of other important players have been in and out of the lineup.
