Coach Mike McDaniel revealed at the NFL’s annual owners meetings on Monday that the Dolphins have extended an offer to free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and the two sides are still in communication regarding a possible agreement.
Beckham went to the team’s headquarters last week, but he didn’t sign a deal. However, McDaniel stated that negotiations are still ongoing on both sides. McDaniel said,
“Things went great with him,”
“We did make him an offer and business takes time, especially with players such as Odell, who’s had a phenomenal career, still has really good football in front of him and has options. So, I think those conversations will be ongoing. We’ll see where they go.”
“I don’t live in the world of crystal balling and I do stay in my lane as a coach. I’m definitely ready to coach him if we can come to an agreement and I think both sides are trying to work towards that. We’ll see what happens.”

This past season, Beckham, who turns 32 in November, was a member of the Baltimore Ravens. In 14 games, he caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three scores. His career-high average of 16.1 yards per reception was achieved.
Beckham might be a good fit for the Dolphins’ ongoing search for a No. 3 wide receiver to go along with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. River Cracraft and Braxton Berrios were re-signed by Miami, but Cedrick Wilson Jr. was lost to free agency.
The Ravens signed Beckham to a $15 million, one-year contract during the previous offseason. The Dolphins had roughly $10 million in cap space as of Monday. However, Miami can clear additional space, and they have spaced out bonuses and kept cap flexibility this offseason by using vacant years.
