After “Humiliating” Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia Agrees Rematch Under This Condition

After defeating Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia appears to be considering a rematch with Gervonta Davis—but only under one condition.

Garcia has only lost once in his professional career, and it was against Davis in April 2023. Garcia was hit hard in the seventh round and was unable to recover. Garcia consented to fight at 136 pounds catchweight and to a 10-pound rehydration clause, which he later claimed left him completely exhausted.

Garcia, who defeated Haney on Saturday night, is obviously feeling extremely cocky. As a result, he turned to social media to attempt and set up a rematch with Davis, evidently feeling that he still has unfinished business there.

Ryan Garcia’s demands for a rematch with Davis

The California boxer, though, stressed that it may only take place if they consent to a catchweight of 144 pounds.

Garcia tweeted,

“Everyone wanna talk about the little Stupid tank,”

“Let’s fight, [enough] of that funny talk. Come see me at 144[lbs] and [let’s] stop the talk. If you beat frank [Martin] let’s run it.”

On June 15, Davis will compete against Frank Martin at lightweight, and it doesn’t seem realistic that Davis will genuinely comply with Garcia’s requests.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT.com, Garcia listed the fighters on his hit list, including Teofimo Lopez, Shakur Stevenson, and the rematch with Gervonta Davis.

“But I also wanna do Sean O’Malley as a crossover MMA thing. That would break UFC PPV records.

“It is gonna be in the cage, there’s no other way I would do it other than me in the cage going against Sean O’Malley and ripping off his head. I don’t want a flat fee, I just want a percentage of the PPVs, that’s it.”
