Angel Reese, a standout player for LSU, declared for the 2024 WNBA draft on Wednesday.
Reese is one of the most well-known figures in the sport when he enters the pros. She shot to national prominence last year when she guided LSU to its first national championship; this year, the Tigers repeated the feat with a run to the Elite Eight. According to an Interview given to Vogue, she said,
“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,”
“I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro — and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready.”
The 6-foot-3 Reese was a unanimous first team All-American in the previous season and was recently voted the SEC player of the year.
According to ESPN’s most recent mock draft, Reese is expected to be selected by the Minnesota Lynx with the seventh overall choice in the first round. Here are a few pictures of Reese from her photoshoot with Vogue.
