Devin Haney was eager to get his hands on Ryan Garcia on Saturday because, in a violent altercation at the Empire State Building, the undefeated boxer shoved his opponent in the face.
Haney posted the video on Instagram, where it features him trading barbs with Garcia, who isn’t wearing a shirt, during their face-off on April 20 at the Barclays Center.

Garcia (24-1) was obviously enraged; he repeatedly referred to Haney as a “bitch” before Devin lost it and gave Ryan a strong shove to the face.
Garcia staggered back after the push, but he doesn’t seem to have been phased at all. He said on X,
“I told you I ate that,” “SCRUMPTIOUS I WANT MORE!”
Doubts over Ryan Garcia’s mental health still linger
Fortunately, that was the only incident between the two; after all, in a few days, the boys will be paid to compete in person. While some fans assume that Haney’s (31-0) and Garcia’s altercation was real, others feel it was staged in order to draw attention to the bout. Bill, Haney’s father and trainer, however, insisted that it was genuine and intimate.
As for Garcia, he carried on with his strange social media shenanigans, saying that since Haney is now a woman and a part of the LGBTQ community, his shove should be prosecuted as a hate crime.
In addition, he threatened to sue Haney, though we don’t think that will happen.
