Unfortunately, Justin Jefferson is one of the many players whose contract situations become unknown throughout the off-season. The Minnesota Vikings and the outstanding wide receiver are now engaged in protracted contract negotiations, but neither side has made much progress. In addition to not being able to grant Jefferson the type of contract extension he desires, the Vikings wide receiver’s visit to New York is raising trade rumors.
Sources: Star WR Justin Jefferson was spotted in Florham Park, NJ, over the weekend, which is where the Jets facility is located.
Jefferson is looking for a new contract with the Vikings. It’s possible MIN could trade him if they can’t come to terms on a new deal (opinion)

Jefferson was most recently seen near the NY Jets practice complex in Jersey. Given the uncertainty surrounding his contract, a potential trade is being suggested as the reason for the wide receiver’s unexpected visit to New York.
The Vikings have to make this difficult choice with only a few days till the start of the required training. Up until now, Jefferson has been a tremendous asset for Minnesota, but if contract negotiations fail, he may choose to pursue his career elsewhere.
The wide receiver’s fifth-year option is now set to pay him 9.743 million. NBC Sports claims that he could be able to replace his present salary with a new multi-season contract that includes a few guaranteed years. Furthermore, even the Vikings have already stated that Jefferson should be paid more than the typical wide receiver.
The Vikings general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, believes that JJ ought to be compensated similarly to the highest-paid non-quarterback players in the league. For background, it is Nick Bosa’s, who inked a new five-year agreement in 2023 and now earns an incredible $34 million year. The only thing left to decide is if the Vikings will stick with JJ or take into account their other WR options.
