Angel Reese Receives Brutal Honesty From the Chicago Sky Coach

Teresa Weatherspoon, the coach of the Chicago Sky, discussed her thoughts on Angel Reese‘s effort during a challenging game on Tuesday against the Seattle Storm. Reese recorded her first double-double as a professional, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, despite the Sky’s 77-68 loss.

She is now only the second player in Sky history to record a double-double in their opening five games thanks to her accomplishment.

In her postgame remarks, Weatherspoon talked about Reese’s tenacity and the passion she brings to every game. She said,

“She’s a competitor. That’s it,” “She wants to compete and she does it. She knows everyone sees her as a rookie, but she just sees herself as a player.”

On the floor, Reese consistently puts up fearless effort. Fans can always count on her to put up her best effort, no matter what obstacles she may encounter.

Excellent newcomers

Reese leads with 8.6 rebounds per game and is second in rookie scoring with an average of 12 points per game. In addition, she made WNBA history by being the third player to have 15 offensive rebounds in just three games.

In contrast, Cameron Brink appears capable of surpassing both Caitlin Clark and Reese. In addition to scoring 9.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, Brink now leads the WNBA in blocks per game with three.

Because of her flexibility, she is a strong contender for Rookie of the Year and a dark horse. Moreover, Kamilla Cardoso, the third overall choice, will play her first game against the Fever after missing three weeks because of a shoulder ailment.
