Tuesday night, the New York Knicks suffered a heartbreaking defeat as they gave up a late lead to the Philadelphia 76ers, lost in overtime, and squandered a fantastic chance to wrap up the series.
Stephen A. Smith, a well-known Knicks fan, saw it all happen and nearly lost his life. Smith updated his social media profiles with a video response. For the first few seconds, he was unable to talk clearly, appearing shocked by what had happened. Then he pointed the finger at a number of coaches and players.
Stephen A. Smith attributes the Sixers’ Game 5 defeat to Jalen Brunson and other factors
Nobody was immune to Smith‘s rage.
Mitchell Robinson: For Tyrese Maxey’s foul
Josh Hart: For failing to make a free throw and misfiring on an outlet pass
Jalen Brunson: For using the ball selfishly in overtime
Tom Thibodeau: For spending a lot of time playing Miles McBride instead of Donte DiVincenzo
Smith yelled “F*CK!” to close out the footage. Although Smith has given us a lot of energetic moments in the past, it appears that this loss has cut years off his life. That’s what it does to you to be a sports fan.
The Knicks will go to Philadelphia on Thursday night in an attempt to wrap up the first-round series. Smith might actually be killed by two more Knicks loses.
