Despite Losing Against the New York Liberty, Caitlin Clark Had Her Best Game to Date, Scoring a Career-High 22 Points

Caitlin Clark appeared more concentrated before the Brooklyn game began, prepared to provide her greatest performance to date in her WNBA debut, and she did not let anyone down. The Indiana Fever’s first-ever home game against the New York Liberty started off poorly, but despite losing 91-80, the squad made significant improvements in a number of areas.

Clark had a better first half than his previous game, scoring 10 points, and it was evident that he focused on a number of areas, including cutting down on personal fouls. However, he still needs to improve on his turnover rate, as he committed 8 in all.

One of the top WNBA teams, the Liberty, with a strong defense, sent its best players to attack the Fever basket right away. Breanna Stewart led the way once more with 24 points, just shy of the 31 she had given the Fever just a few days prior.

The teams were playing each other twice in a row to finish a home-and-home series. Though Clark’s 22 points, the most in her brief professional career, coupled with eight assists and six rebounds, helped Indiana win this game more competitively than its 36-point loss on Thursday. Prior to the game, the Fever (0-3) were averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds for the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft.
