The network revealed on Tuesday that former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce has officially joined ESPN as an analyst, which is a stunning decision. After 13 years with the Eagles, Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL in March. He will continue to appear on ESPN through the 2024 season and beyond.
Under the terms of the multi-year contract, Kelce will contribute to “Monday Night Countdown,” offering insight before to “Monday Night Football” games. Along with the Super Bowl, he will be a part of ESPN’s coverage of the wild card and divisional round playoff games. Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles will be his first Super Bowl with ESPN. Kelce said,
“Turns out, it was a short retirement! I’m excited to join ESPN, and particularly the Monday Night Countdown team,” “ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports,”
“To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”
ESPN makes it official: Jason Kelce is joining the network on a multi-year deal. (@AndrewMarchand reported first, not that there was any doubt.)
Kelce will appear on Monday Night Football throughout the regular season and postseason.
He will also be part of the halftime show…

One of the people networks wanted the most was Kelce
Before deciding on ESPN, Kelce had a few options. Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reports that NBC, CBS, and Amazon expressed interest in him. His honesty and charisma have won him over fans and made him an ideal fit for television, so it’s not surprising that he decided to join ESPN.

Kelce has previously dabbled in the media. In addition to being busy off the field, he co-hosts the well-liked podcast “New Heights” with his brother Travis Kelce.
Recently, Travis was cast in his first significant acting role in Ryan Murphy’s horror drama series “Grotesquerie,” which will debut this autumn on FX. In addition, he will host the Amazon Prime series “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity”
