If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians, you probably know that Khloé has always been open about her weight loss journey. But when she dropped a whopping 80 pounds post-pregnancy, fans were in awe – and it turns out, the secret was cutting out sodas.
We all know that soda is filled with sugar and empty calories, but it can be so hard to resist that refreshing fizzy drink. Khloé, however, decided to make a change for her health and it paid off big time.
By cutting out soda, Khloé was able to kickstart her weight loss journey and dropped 80 pounds post-pregnancy.
The “Kardashians” star explained that the lifestyle and diet changes she learned ahead of getting pregnant made it easier to shed the pounds as she weighed more than 200 pounds after giving birth.
“I would cut out all sodas,” she said during an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of the “She MD” podcast.
“Little by little I would cut things out. I would do that for a week and then cut out one other thing because I realized I did every diet under the sun when I was younger.”
“It took me a long time to train myself and when I got pregnant with True, I was 204 pounds when I delivered,” Kardashian, 39, continued.
At the time, the mom of two recalled asking herself, “How am I going to do this again?”
“I took so many years to do it the first time but because I had all the tools in my toolbox, I knew what to do and I actually lost my pregnancy weight much faster than I ever did my regular fat weight,” she said. “I was so proud of myself, I did it twice.”
Per the Daily Mail, Kardashian now weighs 123 pounds.
Kardashian admitted that diet and weight loss never came easy to her as she’s been “overweight a lot of [her] life.”
For years, she was stuck in the toxic cycle of being an “emotional eater,” often binging on junk food and then crying over her choices.
“I was sad so I needed the ice cream again. It was this crazy repeat cycle,” she said.
“It took years for me,” she added. “I’ve always been even chubby, like athletic. I’ve always played sports, I was never in shape. My thing is more the food because I have the determination, so I had to retrain my mind as to what I could eat [and] what I couldn’t eat.”
The Good American co-founder also found herself in the gym five days a week doing cardiovascular intervals with weightlifting.
“If I’m getting ready for a shoot I’ll do pilates and my workouts,” the reality star continued.
Now, Khloé is a fitness inspiration to many, proving that small changes can lead to big transformations. So next time you reach for that can of soda, think about Khloé and her amazing journey – maybe it’s time to make a change for yourself too.
