Another player is leaving the field early in the NFL. After five outstanding seasons as a center, Billy Price has announced his retirement from the league. Given that Price is only 29 years old, his choice to remove his cleats seems surprising. Despite being regarded as an NFL veteran, supporters are concerned about the Giants center’s early retirement and the rationale behind it.
The center gave an explanation of his retirement on Instagram, citing health issues stemming from a blood clot. A saddle clot that was going to reach his lungs had to be removed, so he told his followers that he needed to have an emergency embolism surgery.
He went on to state that because of the nature of his blood-thinning medication, he had to give up playing the sport and was scared by the medical emergency at his age. He was also thankful to be alive. Fans were devastated to learn of Price’s retirement, despite their best wishes, prayers for his well-being, and farewells:
Prayers for him and his family, I hope he can get healthy. He was a very good player.

Billy Price is hardly the first athlete to leave the game early. In the past, many people have been forced to retire early due to the physicality of nature. Whether it’s to pursue alternative job paths, their emotional and physical health, or both.
