Tyreek Hill Is Called a Hater for Calling Popular WR Overrated

One of the greatest wide receivers of all time and a fan favorite in the NFL, Tyreek Hill, recently got into trouble. After calling former New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker “overhyped” on X, then known as Twitter, the Miami Dolphins star stirred up controversy.

In response to a post querying which player was more hype than skill, Hill said emphatically, “Wes Welker.” Fans were infuriated by his lack of explanation for his feelings. The wideout for the Dolphins was even dubbed a “hater” and a “racist” by some. Check it out for yourself:

The retaliation came quickly. One fan called Hill’s interpretation “awful,” but others supported Welker, stating, “You’re delusional.” Perfect slot receiver. It’s like to Jalen Ramsey referring to you as a return specialist. Someone else joked that Hill must have given Antonio Brown access to his X account.

Surprisingly, though, this tweet was just a lighthearted conversation. For those unaware, Wes Welker, a former wide receiver, was one of Tom Brady’s go-to targets for six years. He also tried his hand at coaching and did a great job at it.

He began with the Texans as an offensive assistant before being quickly elevated to the position of 49ers wide receiver coach. Welker has been with the Miami Dolphins in the same capacity for the past two years, during Tyreek Hill’s tenure. Consequently, it is safe to assume that Hill was merely making a lighthearted shot at his coach when he made his comment.

This was brought up by a few admirers in the comments, who even made fun of those who were fooled by the joke. Considering everything Tyreek has been through, it was entertaining to see this playful conversation.
