Chris Paul, who played in the NBA for 19 years, has come to represent the league’s advancement in this century. Currently, the 39-year-old wants to stay in the league longer even if his playing days are coming to an end. The North Carolina native is still eager to own a team, and the Charlotte Hornets are one possibility, in order to guarantee this.
In his most recent interview, CP3 explained this very clearly to Forbes’ Jabari Young. Emphasizing the benefits of owning a basketball team in the nation, he disclosed,
“I would love to own a WNBA team and an NBA team… Charlotte is home… But I’m open, especially if there’s an expansion or something like that”.
Can Chris Paul own Hornets ?
Paul still has a very real chance of owning a portion of the Hornets given his ties to North Carolina. The Point God has made a significant contribution to the growth of the US state over time. He even established The Chris Paul Family Foundation in his hometown in 2005 to aid the less fortunate families in the area.
The most powerful person in the organization, previous owner Michael Jordan, and he have always been tight. Paul has been a perfect representation of Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan brand since joining the NBA, establishing standards for the other players.
For these reasons, Jordan and the city will be happy to accept any interest he may have in purchasing a share in the Hornets. This could improve the franchise’s standing within the league and increase its legitimacy.
