Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Gets Injured On His Elbow While Filming The Smashing Machine

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be as tough as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson? Well, the action star has revealed how rough filming can get in his work. Recently, he shared a video of his elbow with a cantaloupe-sized injury, which he sustained while filming his new movie, The Smashing Machine.

The Rock is known for his intense dedication to his craft, and this injury is just one example of the physical toll that filming can take. He continued filming like a true professional, showing that he was a force to be reckoned with.

Dwayne shared a video to Instagram where he showed off the fluid-filled bump on his elbow, which he joked was as big as a ‘cantaloupe.’

The Jungle Cruise lead is starring in The Smashing Machine as the mixed martial arts (MMA) icon Mark Kerr.

The wrestler address his 396 million followers from what looked like his kitchen while he was dressed in a charcoal tank top to show off his bulging muscles and tattoos.

Although Dwayne clarified that he hurt himself on set, he didn’t share how exactly he managed to injure himself, though he did say he got ‘pretty banged up’ during a scene.

‘Anytime your film is called The Smashing Machine, well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up,’ he joked, before raising his right arm to reveal the injury.

He had a sizable bump that looked as if a baseball was pushing out from his elbow.

Dwayne said the bump was filled with ‘a lot of fluid’ as he poked at it to reveal that it was soft, and he also said there might be some ‘soft tissue damage.’

He added that the pain was manageable, but he would need to wait for the swelling to go down or the fluid to be drained before he could get an MRI to assess the extent of the injury.

He then recalled something his father, the late pro wrestler Rocky Johnson, would say: ‘A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy.’

Then Dwayne listed some of his painful injuries he had received in the past, especially while wrestling.

‘I tore my quad off my pelvis, tore my adductor off my pelvis, tore my entire abdomen wall — all wrestling, pro wrestling matches,’ he said.

He also noted that he had had four knee surgeries in the past, and he added that he had torn his Achilles tendon, and he has a ‘completely reconstructed shoulder’ on his opposite side.

Then Dwayne asked his followers if they had advice on any ‘advanced’ anti-inflammatories he could be taking to bring down the swelling and fight the pain.

He picked up some bottles of supplements from the counter, before casting them aside and pulling a frosted bottle of his own Teremana tequila out and pour a glass for himself.

He joked that it was his ‘favorite anti-inflammatory,’ though alcohol tends to increase inflammation, rather than decreasing it.

‘Functional medicine, holistic medicine, modern medicine — I’m an advocate for it all when we get banged up,’ he wrote in his caption. ‘But don’t sleep on the power of the “healing Teremana hooch.’

‘Sunshine & pain,’ he added. ‘Smashing em up soulman.’

Dwayne stars in The Smashing Machine with his Jungle Cruise costar Emily Blunt.
