Iman Shumpert, former NBA star and ex-husband of singer Teyana Taylor, is making headlines once again. This time, it’s for a rather bold move in their ongoing divorce proceedings. Shumpert is requesting that the judge grant him half of Taylor’s pre-marriage royalties.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, announced their split earlier this year after seven years of marriage. Since then, the two have been embroiled in a bitter legal battle over custody of their children and division of assets.
Sources tell us that in court it was revealed that Iman has asked the Judge to give him half of Teyana’s royalties from projects before they were married.
Our sources also detail Iman’s finances. We’re told that Iman spends $112,500 per month. This is said to include over $14,000 per month on eating out, over $14,000 per month on his podcast and over $6000 per month on his video music production. However, sources tell us that he requests to pay $8000 per month in child support.
It will be interesting to see how the judge rules on this matter. In the meantime, fans of the couple can only speculate on what led to their decision to split and how this latest development will impact their future.
