Klay Thompson Hasn’t Made a Decision About His Future Yet

For about a month now, there have been a lot of stories surrounding Klay Thompson‘s whereabouts, making him the talk of the town. With interest from teams like the Magic and Lakers, Thompson entered free agency hoping to land a three-year contract. Recent events, however, suggest that the Warriors‘ intentions have changed significantly.

Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson is deeply saddened by the news that the Warriors will not re-sign him and are getting ready to play without him, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

To ensure that his market value is recognized, they intend to pursue a sign-and-trade agreement. Thompson, who inked a five-year, 189-million-dollar contract in 2019, should now anticipate an agreement that offers little over $20 million year, with the goal of securing a three-year contract.

Possible Places Klay Thompson Might Go

Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James just declared that he will forego his player option worth $51.4 million this summer, probably accepting a pay decrease and adding new players in exchange.

The Lakers should consider signing Klay Thompson, especially now that they have a need for a dependable shooter.

Dallas Mavericks : With Klay Thompson joining Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on their roster, the Mavericks are also a contender. Although there is a strong potential to join the Mavericks, Klay may decide to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for the Lakers.

Both locations present bright futures, but Klay’s position in Los Angeles may be more important given the Lakers’ need for a dependable shooter to bolster their current roster.

In addition, the Lakers may use D’Angelo Russell—who just made the decision to remain with the team—in a trade with Klay Thompson.
