Kyle Filipowski, a standout college basketball player for the Duke Blue Devils, is currently dating Caitlin Hutchison. Caitlin, originally from Alabama, has a background in Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, and Health Promotion from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She works as an Executive Assistant at Intelerad Medical Systems in Durham, North Carolina.
The couple’s relationship became public on Instagram in May 2022 when they attended Kyle’s prom together. But looks can be deceiving, If you are wondering why Kyle Filipowski dropped in the draft it is because teams thought the relationship was very weird according to Larry Brown Sports.
On Thursday’s episode of “The Lowe Post” podcast, Zach Lowe talked with ESPN NBA draft analyst Jonathon Givony about Filipowski’s slide.
Givony cited many factors that may have contributed to the former Duke star dropping in the draft, including the young player’s girlfriend.
“People tell me there were question marks about the interviews. They said he was nervous. He didn’t make shots at the pro day. What’s going on with his girlfriend?” Givony said about what sort of questions he was hearing about Filipowski.
Two of Filipowski’s family members responded via X to the person who posted the clip from the podcast. One of Filipowski’s brothers, Daniel, says that Kyle’s girlfriend Caitlin Hutchison forced him to cut off contact with his family. Kyle’s mother claims that Hutchison is 28 anddeveloped a plan while Kyle was still in high school to get engaged by the time he left Duke.
According to Filipowski’s famly members Hutchinson groomed him to be a mormon and made him cut off all family ties. His family wasn’t at the draft.
In an ironic twist even though he wasn’t drafted in the first round he was quickly drafted in the second round by the Utah Jazz where the majority of mormons are.
Someone has also suggestion the Hutchinson is a distant cousin of Filipowski.
