Although Jordan Love‘s NFL career may not have started off well, his first season as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers has shown him to be a quarterback with a lot of potential. But as the clock runs out on contract extension negotiations, Love finds himself waiting for his big paycheck with other gifted signal-callers. Not only was former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum recently praising Love, but he also quietly pushed the Packers’ front management to finalize the transaction before it’s too late.
In a recent episode of “NFL on ESPN,” Tannenbaum made a statement that might cause concern among fans of the NFL nationwide.
Mike Tannenbaum praises Jordan Love as one of the best assets
Jordan Love would be his first choice if he were starting a franchise from scratch, he stated. Yes, even ahead of a few of the most well-known players in the league. Mike said,
“Outside of Patrick Mahomes, if we, the four of us, were running an NFL team today, there is nobody on the planet I’d rather have than Jordan Love. Period. If he was an IPO, I’d be like buying NVIDIA three years ago. He is, by far, to me, a player that has the most sustained upside,”
Tannenbaum used the NVIDIA example to suggest that, similar to investors in the tech company before to its explosive growth, those who place a bet on Love today could reap enormous rewards later on.
Mike Tannenbaum did express his admiration for other quarterbacks, such as Josh Allen and CJ Stroud, but he saved the best for Love. When it comes to the possibility of “sustained excellence,” in his opinion, Love is the only option.
