Bronny James‘ selection by the Los Angeles Lakers was the main narrative to emerge from the NBA Draft held last week. Bronny and his father, LeBron James, will team up in an attempt to split the few remaining seasons that the hall of fame NBA star has left in him.
All sports media outlets, of course, reported on the move. It follows that it garnered a great deal of attention inside the industry. Patrick Mahomes was even exposed to it.
A tweet about LeBron and Bronny James was retweeted by Mahomes. Being somewhat active on Twitter, Mahomes primarily reposts content related to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes supports Lakers decison to get Bronny James
He raised curiosity on Friday when he retweeted a Bleacher Report article on LeBron and Bronny. The question of whether the Lakers‘ draft of Bronny amounted to nepotism has been discussed extensively.
Ultimately, Bronny’s one and only season at USC was far from spectacular. However, Mahomes doesn’t appear to be bothered at all.
Sports are meant to be joyful and entertaining, with memories that players will cherish for the rest of their lives. It is admirable, not distasteful, to see a father—possibly the greatest basketball player of all time—sharing the court with his son.
