On Monday, the Caitlin Clark debate accelerated to an absurd degree as Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee transformed the talks about the WNBA into talks about them.
The two guys handled the criticism in different ways. McAfee expressed regret for his statements, if not for his meaning. Smith, meanwhile, escalated his actions in a distinctly Trumpian manner.
Later in the evening, Fox News—an unexpected source—continued to criticize McAfee for his remarks. Nonetheless, it raised some questions that Sean Hannity was criticizing the former punter for the Indianapolis Colts while dismissing Smith’s role in the day’s incident.

WNBA fanatic Hannity discussed the controversy surrounding Clark—who has recently been subjected to some “tough love” from a number of WNBA opponents—in a segment on his Monday show. He started off by highlighting Smith’s assertion that the treatment Clark is receiving could be the result of “jealousy” over the attention he has been receiving. Next, he addressed McAfee’s remarks, in which he called Clark “one white b****…who is a superstar.”

“As Stephen A. said, a rising tide will lift all boats. Meanwhile, Pat McAfee, well, he’s facing a backlash, rightly, today, for using a descriptor that he used to defend Caitlin Clark,” “He’s like the Jim Cramer of sports.”
“Anyway, McAfee has since apologized for his comments on today’s show. He’s still a jackass, a buffoon, and a horrible host. McAfee’s biggest problem… his ego can not handle living in the shadows of the far more popular, way more talented Stephen A. Smith.”
