Recently, a photo of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wearing a walking boot while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, was published by a sportscaster speaking in Spanish, which caused the image to become viral. Concerns were quickly raised by fans since Prescott was limited to only five games in what appeared to be an MVP-caliber campaign in 2020 due to ankle surgery that ended the season on the same foot.
On the other hand, Craig Carton, the host of FS1, does not believe that Prescott’s performance on the football field is compromised by this. According to all of the Cowboys OTAs the sports media celebrity attended this offseason, the quarterback for the Cowboys appeared to be in perfect health.

But Carton doubted the destination Prescott had selected, knowing full well that it would be harmful to his health. He said,
“If the ankle swells up when you go deep sea fishing, don’t go deep sea fishing until you retire. You have plenty of time to catch marlin and yellowfin tuna.”
Carton then cited a piece written by veteran Cowboys beat writer and Fort Worth Star-Telegram journalist Clarence Hill Jr., in which Prescott gave an explanation for his choice to wear the walking boot. The quarterback for the 2023 Second-Team All-Pro said it’s a preventative measure because deep sea fishing makes his ankles swell.
Weeks before to their training camp in Oxnard, California, Prescott gave Hill Jr. the assurance that he was in terrific physical shape, despite the unflattering appearance of the viral photo. He did, after all, participate in all 18 Cowboys games last season, including the playoffs, having missed five games in 2022 because of a thumb ailment.
The quarterback, who has been to three Pro Bowls, also responded to rumors of a sprained foot. “People be reaching man,” he told the columnist, denying any reality to the injury. Prescott allegedly needed the walking boot because of a minor foot strain, according to a source who spoke with ESPN’s Todd Archer.
