Dana White Says That After 17 Months, PowerSlap Did What UFC Did in a Decade

Dana White established the nation’s first official slap-fighting league last year in 2023, and as of right now, his side project has had over 7 billion views, making it one of the most popular leagues in the nation! The 51-year-old promoter discussed how PowerSlap has progressed past the UFC after just 17 months of launch on “The Big Podcast” with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

White hopes to make it an official sport. He hopes to legitimize the sport and give it some production value. Yes, Dana White is interested in making slapping a legitimate sport.

“I think this can be huge and the answer is 7 billion views! This thing has been around 17 months, its done over 7 billion views… Where Powerslap is right now in 17 months, it took the UFC 10 years to get there.”

While he was watching a local Russian barn fight on YouTube, White had the idea. The businessman rethought after taking a cursory glance at the figures, and that’s when he saw its enormous potential.

Can Dana White make PowerSlap go global ?

Expanding with a larger and more advanced production team, White presented PowerSlap to the globe in 2023. In this show, two people take the stage and alternately slap each other until one of them falls.

Despite having straightforward rules, the sport is becoming quite popular on social media, particularly in Europe. Indeed, White asserted a few months ago that the emerging league is gradually overtaking established sports leagues like MLB, NASCAR, and NHL in terms of viewership.

Having saying that, do not take this lightly or liberally. The excitement is probably because this is White’s newest venture, which he hopes to expand and sell. Fans who have followed the UFC attentively over the past few years are aware that White gives fighters a pass when he exaggerates their reputation to get people to purchase tickets from home.

Having said that, even “Shaq” wanted a piece of the action once White presented the numbers, suggesting a slap fight between them against Charles Barkley, White’s former opponent turned friend.
