Jake Paul, who defeated Mike Perry by unanimous decision, has now formally announced that he would battle boxing icon Mike Tyson.
Due to the previous heavyweight champion’s health scare, their fight was rescheduled as a replacement for Tyson, but in the sixth round, Paul pushed the referee to end it.
Fighting Mike Tyson is scheduled for November 15th
Paul has made a daring move by contacting Tyson to settle their much-anticipated fight. Paul revealed that the battle will take place on November 15 and that Netflix will stream the bout live. Paul said,
“Mike Tyson, you’re next big boy,”
“Sign the contract, 15 November on Netflix. 100 percent, it’s happening.”
Jake Paul’s assurance in spite of injury worries
Prior to his bout with Perry, Paul disclosed that he was coping with an injury. Though he was feeling under the weather and had a swelled knuckle, he promised supporters that these problems would not keep him from fighting Tyson. Paul said,
“I didn’t feel very good tonight,”.
“I was sick before and my knuckle is swollen. It was basically broken before the fight. It didn’t delay this fight, I’m a warrior!”
Paul’s words on Tyson were one of respect and resolve. He said,
“Mike, I love you, but this is my sport now,”.
“You’re a legend. You’re one of the two most famous boxers to ever live, alongside Muhammad Ali, so I’m honored to share a ring with you. But I want to take your throne.”
