It will not be long before the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris begin. Pros from a wide range of sports will be visiting France in an attempt to bring home gold for their nations.
Though it has received some attention, an underappreciated plot point for the Olympics is that two of the greatest basketball players in history—LeBron James and Stephen Curry—will be playing together for the first time in their careers. The two got together on Friday as the USA squad began preparations for the match.

Steph Curry and LeBron James meet prior to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris
LeBron approached Curry to give him a quick pep talk while he was having a conversation with Kevin Durant, Curry’s former teammate. James said, “about time,” to which Curry replied, “let’s have some fun with it.” This started the conversation.

The fact that they had never played for the same USA side is remarkable, but it was just a case of bad luck. James was not there during either of Curry’s two FIBA World Championship appearances (2010) or the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Regarding LeBron, he participated in the Olympic games in 2008, 2012, and 2004. Other contemporary stars like Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, and more will be joining the two basketball legends.
