Paul George recently signed a four-year, $211.58 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, capping off an incredible career with the Los Angeles Clippers. George recently reflected on how he used his first sizable paycheck, even if he hasn’t yet revealed his plans for spending this large amount.
The nine-time All-Star admitted candidly on his podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George,” that he bought a Ferrari as his first major buy with his rookie deal. He said,
“You know what’s funny about this story? I just made my deal, right? And I was still trying to be cheap at the same time. This is how cheap I was though, my a** went on eBay, to look for a Ferrari.”
In 2010, George started his NBA career with the Indiana Pacers. His first league contract was for a meager $10.5 million spread over four years.
