Beyoncé is releasing a line of whiskey in an attempt to take the lead. The 43-year-old singer of Single Ladies unveiled the drink, named SirDavis—ostensibly a nod to her seven-year-old son Sir—while posing in lace.
It is priced at £79 a bottle and is distilled in her home state of Texas. The Sun reported earlier this year that Beyoncé will earn a staggering £30 million with her country album Cowboy Carter, which became the most streamed record on Spotify in a single day.
Beyoncé took country music by storm this year
The 27-track album, which includes collaborations with Miley Cyrus and Post Malone as well as legendary country performers Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, had received extremely positive reviews.
In addition to reviving country music, Queen Bey cleverly capitalized on the $3 billion industry, which had been witnessing a consistent increase in both performers and fans.
Country music’s continued appeal is demonstrated by the fact that it accounted for 14.7% of all music sales and streams in the US in 2020.
In the meantime, Beyonce was kind enough to send enormous bouquets of flowers to black female country musicians.
