Chiefs React to Patrick Mahomes Being Ranked No.4 in Top 100 NFL Players List

On Friday night, Tyreek Hill surprised football fans by rising to the top of the NFL’s annual Top 100 Players list. The choice is questionable because 2024 Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes, who won his second ring in two years, barely came in at number four.

Tyreek topped the list, followed by Lamar Jackson and Christian McCaffrey in second and third place. This sparked a stir inside the NFL fraternity, as was to be expected.

A number of pundits and supporters expressed their dissatisfaction at Mahomes’ poor ranking. Even the Chiefs of Kansas City joined the conversation, sharing their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the 28-year-old quarterback’s ranking.

Is Patrick Mahomes being the best even debatable?

The NFL record of Mahomes is unquestionable. Despite Mahomes’ turbulent 2023–24 season, he outperformed McCaffrey and Lamar to win the championship. Furthermore, Cheetah was unable to advance the Dolphins past the postseason.

The Chiefs quarterback, who made his fourth Super Bowl participation in five years, threw for 27, touchdowns and 4,183 yards in the 2022–24 season, which was sixth-best in the NFL.

Tyreek, on the other hand, recorded 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. This amounted to an astounding 112.4 receiving yards per contest. It should be mentioned that the ranking is determined by the votes of the players, even though it is difficult to compare a wide receiver and quarterback based solely on statistics.
