Despite his multi-million dollar NFL deal, Cooper Kupp had a somewhat modest beginning. The Rams wide receiver discussed a pivotal experience that strengthened his will to be successful in the NFL on the Pivot podcast. He remembered an occasion when, along with his now-wife Anna and father-in-law, he found himself in a bank and only had $3 in his account.
Cooper is extremely appreciative of Anna’s parents for accepting him into the family despite his poor circumstances. The standout wide receiver disclosed this information in 2022 after agreeing to a huge three-year contract deal for $80 million.
Along with the pair to the bank was Anna’s father, who co-signed her account. When the bank teller disclosed his financial status to Kupp’s new father-in-law, he was left feeling ashamed. It was an impression he most definitely did not want to make on his new family, especially with only $3 in his account.
Even after learning of these “embarrassing” facts, Cooper’s family and Anna were steadfast in their support, standing by him through good times and bad. That moment cemented their relationship and surely made their journey together even more memorable. Kupp thus thinks that one of the major events in his life was meeting his wife.
