LeBron James‘s effort throughout the entire tournament earned him the title of MVP of the Olympic Basketball Championship. Even though he was 38 years old, he continued to perform at an amazing level. LeBron James was arguably just as reliable at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists, the seasoned veteran was in top form.
James had more than enough to win the title of tournament MVP. However, LeBron James detractors and Golden State Warriors supporters banded together online to assert that Stephen Curry outperformed LeBron James in the Olympics. But shall we take a moment to examine that?
Was LeBron James better than Stephen Curry in the Olympics?
It is noteworthy that Stephen Curry had a distinct Olympic Games participation up until the semifinals of the tournament. Fans believed Stephen Curry would get better in the next games when he opened the Olympics against Serbia with 11 points. He did, however, only manage three points against South Sudan, eight against Puerto Rico, and seven against Brazil. The primary distinction between the two was that LeBron James never scored fewer than ten points. True, with two of the greatest performances in Olympic history, Curry led Team USA to the promised land. For many who believed Steph should have won the MVP Award, that is their main talking point.

But in comparison to Curry, LeBron James did also have higher numbers in terms of rebounds, assists, and blocks. It doesn’t really matter who won the MVP Award at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Who wins the Olympic Gold Medal is all that will matter to people in the real world.
Thankfully, this game was won jointly by the two best players of the past 20 years, and they both performed superbly. A historical moment that will be difficult to completely remove from the collective mind, and a win that they can both tell their grandchildren about. The two of them were able to provide the fans with a ton of unforgettable pictures.
