Joel Embiid Reveals Why He Chose Team USA Rather Than France

International players like Joel Embiid are exceptional in the NBA nowadays. Born in Cameroon, Embiid has resided in the United States since she was sixteen years old. She is a dual citizen of the United States and France. He choose Team USA over Cameroon and France when deciding which nation to represent.

The Philadelphia 76ers player was subjected to jeers and heckling from French spectators during Team USA’s Olympic competition. Embiid, however, was unwavering in his decision. Following Team USA’s convincing victory over Team Puerto Rico on Saturday, Embiid recently gave an explanation for his choice of Team USA over France. He said:

It was a tough decision, but it is all about comfort level, and like I said, I’ve known these guys (Team USA players) for a long time, and I just felt more comfortable than on the other side (France). There was some concern with the other side. Comfort level was huge. I always say I’m going to be where I’m wanted, and these guys wanted me,” 

At the end of the day, I think a lot of people think it’s hate. I see it as love and respectIf I wasn’t an OK basketball player, I would not receive that type of treatment, and so I see myself as being blessed, and that’s why I interact with them,

Joel Embiid excels as Team USA defeats Puerto Rico

With a decisive 104-83 victory over Puerto Rico, Team USA secured their third consecutive Olympic victory. The USA men’s basketball team’s victory guaranteed them the number one seed going into the medal round.

Joel Embiid found comfort in Kevin Durant’s certainty despite his reservations about Team USA’s star-studded squad, which is largely composed of players who are getting close to 30 years old. With Durant’s backing, Embiid felt more assured about his place on the team.

With 15 points and two blocks in the match against Puerto Rico, Embiid had his greatest performance to date for Team USA.
