Even after his oldest son, Bronny James, was the target of political memes, LeBron James has largely avoided political controversy throughout his NBA career. But the legend of the Los Angeles Lakers recently made news for criticizing former US President Donald Trump.
During the National Association of Black Journalists meeting, Trump said something contentious regarding jobs for Black people. Trump said,
βI will tell you that coming from the border are millions and millions of people that happen to be taking Black jobs,β
On social media, well-known gymnast Simone Biles poked fun at Trump’s remark by posting, “I love my black job.”
Later, LeBron James shared Biles’ post and added his own words of encouragement, weighing in on the situation. He posted on X,

After 1952, Biles became the oldest gymnast to win the all-around title, making history. She then garnered James’ backing by using her platform to mockingly respond to Trump’s statement.
When LeBron James showed his support for Simmon Biles in opposition to Donald Trump’s statement, NBA fans had a lot to say. Numerous supporters expressed their gratitude to the Los Angeles Lakers player for standing out against Trump’s divisive statement.
