Tom Brady Claims Roger “Deflategate” Goodell Conflict Is Over As Fans React In Disgust

Tom Brady can’t seem to keep himself away from news. The Fanatics Fest, sometimes known as the “Comic-Con of sports,” was held in New York City from August 16–18 for three days. Sports lovers from all around the world came to watch it, including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, TB12’s longstanding former colleague Rob Gronkowski, and NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

But it was one specific exchange between Brady and Goodell that went viral online.

Posing as “super fans” and cosplaying as NFL icons, Gronk and TB-12 offered fans the experience of a lifetime as they strolled around in each other’s jerseys and full football gear. Brady even tweeted a photo of this disguise. Fans were thrilled to learn about their disguises.

Tom Brady’s fued with Goodell over?

Brady and Gronk are posing in each other’s jerseys in the photo that he posted to his X account, with Goodell positioned in the middle and Brady’s arm wrapped around the “commish.”

Given that Goodell is frequently linked to one of the few stains on the GOAT’s legendary career, he is not particularly well-liked by Brady or Patriots supporters. Patriots supporters are still upset with the Commissioner for benching Brady for four games due to his purported role in the Deflategate affair.

Brady obviously no longer harbors any resentment toward Goodell, and based on this most recent photo op, it appears the hatchet has been permanently buried. Fans, though, were not as understanding as Brady:

Here were some of the fan reactions.

With claims that he intentionally deflated footballs to gain an advantage during the 2015 AFC Championship game, the Deflategate incident dogged Brady’s career for a few years, but it is now firmly behind us and everyone involved appears to have moved on. They’re even comfortable making jokes about it at this point.
