Tom Brady’s Huddle Spirit and Baker Mayfield’s Compared By Chris Godwin

Many people in the NFL community were saddened by Tom Brady‘s decision to retire from the game after 23 seasons, which marked the end of an era. But after he left, Baker Mayfield had more opportunities, which he took use of the previous campaign. Chris Godwin discussed how the two quarterbacks’ huddle feelings were different after playing with both of them.

Godwin described Brady’s unparalleled aura in the huddle to Pete Prisco during their meeting at the Bucs training camp. In the huddle, according to Godwin, he was all about football and nothing else. On the field, he gave no weight to anything else and approached the game with a laser-like focus.

Godwin says that a baker is a mixture of spice and sugar. In the huddle, he enjoys making jokes, but when it comes time to deliver, he is locked in:

“Tom, he was very like business like, what they call, ‘Physcho Tom.’ When he’s in football mode that’s what he is, laser like focus. Baker is a mix of both. He likes to have a lot of fun. But when it’s time to play, he’s locked in.”

Tampa Tom was a different animal; he seemed carefree and at ease, as though something had been taken off his shoulders. For the first time in a long while, he seemed to be enjoying himself while playing football. The dressing room was alive with that excitement. That did not, however, imply that he was not imprisoned. To win a second Super Bowl, he traveled to Tampa.

That being said, Baker needs to do more than just throw for 4000 yards if he hopes to equal Brady’s influence.
