Will Levis, the quarterback for the Titans, anticipated being selected in the first round of the 2022 draft. Unfortunately, the Kentucky prospect’s hopes were dashed when, on the first day of the draft, all 32 clubs passed on Levis, understandably frustrated. It wasn’t all bad news, though, as he made a wise financial choice that ended up saving him a significant amount of money on Day 1.
Levis stated on “Bussin’ With The Boys” that he didn’t overspend on what was arguably the most significant event in his life, despite the rumors that he might be selected of the first round.
Rather than buying a $100,000 paddock suit, he opted to rent one.
Will Levis draft day horror show
Fortunately for him—or unfortunately for him—the NFL teams were gracious enough to support Will in defending his astute financial decision to be selected on day two. Despite his humor, Will was obviously disappointed over not getting selected on the first round, especially considering the high expectations placed on him.
So he sent the suit back to the boutique right away (without even wearing it) and showed up for the second round dressed in his own clothes. Luckily, things worked out well for him because the Titans took him with the 33rd overall pick, and he has continued to get better ever since.
But for Will, there were other significant financial lessons to be learned on his draft day.
