Charissa Thompson pursued and masterfully fulfilled her early ambition of being a broadcaster. She has worked as a sideline reporter for Fox Sports and Amazon Prime Video for the past nearly 16 years. But because of the “arrogance that fills the entertainment industry,” in her perspective, her stint in the NFL has actually been more fulfilling than her brief one in Hollywood.
Thompson gave her explanation for why she has enjoyed working in the NFL during a podcast conversation with her partner Erin Andrews. Charissa brazenly asserted that the NFL has made life easier for her, but she had to deal with an abundance of conceit in Hollywood. She said,
“I actually experienced this more in my Hollywood days,” “I felt like Hollywood had the arrogance way more than the athletes.”
She clarified that although athletes exhibit confidence, Hollywood exudes it to a greater extent. Furthermore, Thompson thinks the NFL organizations are capable of being good team players. And their treatment of her has always been a reflection of that. She said,
“I’m talking like 5% that have ego or arrogance that is just…detestable,” . “I feel like I have been so lucky that these guys, players, coaches, colleagues have all been unbelievable,”.
Thompson also attributes her Hollywood career’s brief duration to the “arrogance” she encountered. Thompson claims that her brief tenure as a co-host for an evening Hollywood news magazine in the entertainment industry also caused her to go through a “hard time.”
