Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers believes that his skill and skills rank him among the top 15 players in the NBA, but he also stated that he needs to get to the NBA Finals in order to receive the respect of the supporters.
In the 2022–23 season, Mitchell averaged 28.3 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. The following year, he backed it up with averages of 26.6 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.1 rebounds as the Cavaliers placed fourth in the Eastern Conference.

He demonstrated why the Cavaliers were wise to sign him to a three-year, $150.3 million contract that expires in 2025. Based on his remarks to Carmelo Anthony, he has already started to promote himself. He claimed : “Realistically, I look at myself in the Top 10, Top 15 players in this league,”. “But I haven’t made it to a conference final. “So for me to make that jump, I can’t sit here and get mad. I can sit here and get mad and use it as fuel. “It’s an accolade-based world we live in, whether it’s right, wrong, or indifferent. For whatever reason, that’s just what it is.”

After being chosen as the 13th overall choice in the 2017–18 NBA Draft, Mitchell made his NBA debut with the Utah Jazz in the following season.
After being a regular on their squad, he was nominated for his first All-Star game in 2020. Despite being traded in the middle of the season, he continued to be a constant through 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
