Julian Edelman, has a daring guess regarding Bill Belichick‘s upcoming role. The three-time Super Bowl champion Edelman thinks the famous head coach might find a “enticing” home with the New York Giants. After 24 years with the Patriots, Belichick departed the team in January.
In addition to his six Super Bowl victories in Foxborough, he also earned two more while working as the defensive coordinator for the Giants from 1985 to 1990.
For the 2024 season, Belichick will not be coaching; instead, he has taken up a number of commentator roles.
Julian Edelman’s take on where Bill Belichick would land next season
When Edelman returned to The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Tuesday, he was asked where he thought Belichick would end up the next season if he decided to play football again. He said : “I think the situation has to be right,”
“North east probably helps. He’s got family there. The real enticing one to me is if the New York Giants open up.”

After that, Edelman declared that he “loved” Giants coach Brian Daboll and that he hoped “nobody loses their job”. He said,
“I remember vividly any time we played in New York, or we played the Giants, you could just see a little like jingle in Belichick’s spirit,” “He loved talking about those old Giants teams, and he loved talking about that organization. “You know, you could tell that he loved the New York Giants.”
In the past seven seasons, Big Blue has only made it to the NFL playoffs once. Furthermore, Edelman thinks Belichick’s prior experiences with the franchise might be relevant. According to Edelman:
Earlier in the season, Belichick was not selected to be the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. ESPN reports that he will be “choosy” about whether or not to return to the NFL. For the 2024 season, Belichick has put himself into a new role as a media celebrity.
